Westminster Bridge Marine Surveys
Pelorus Surveys were instructed by Mowlem Marine to provide risk information to assist the remediation works being undertaken to the bridge abutments at Westminster Bridge.
This involved Pelorus Surveys undertaking an initial desk study and marine geophysical survey to compile information to assess the risks to the remediation works associated with buried unexploded ordnance (UXO) dating from World War II, and to make recommendations for managing these risks. The risk assessment and risk management studies were undertaken by a sub contract specialist.
The marine survey works comprised of bathymetric, side scan sonar, magnetic and seismic reflection surveys. An initial survey was undertaken on spans 4 to 6 in August 2003 and spans 2 to 3 in March 2004. |
