Survey 2000

In 2000, the Survey Group has increased it's number of staff to 18 with five new staff joining the department. Congratulations to Andy Kehoe who recently became chartered with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

As in previous years the Survey Group has carried out a wide range of contracts with some highlights below:

  • Geophysical surveys for Transco's new gas pipeline from Warrington to Mawdesley, near Preston.
  • Inshore and onshore geophysical surveys for a new pipeline in Cote D'Ivoire.
  • Ground penetrating radar survey of Glaxo Wellcome's manufacturing complex at Ulverston to map all underground services.
  • Range of surface and downhole seismic surveys at Dungeness Power Station.
  • Numerous topographic surveys throughout the UK including surveys and monitoring for London Underground Limited for our Wokingham office.
  • Nearshore and landfall surveys for a new gas pipeline for Bord Gais Eireann in Scotland, Isle of Man and Ireland.
  • Second phase of marine surveys for a proposed offshore wind farm at Scroby Sands near Great Yarmouth.
  • An autumn cruise around the Orkneys surveying landfalls and installing current meters for proposed sub-sea electricity cables.
  • Electromagnetic and magnetic surveys throughout UK to locate shallow mine workings and other buried structures on various brownfield sites.
